Windshield Replacement

Every windshield replacement includes the glass, new mouldings and clips where your vehicle uses them, the correct urethane adhesive, and full cleanup inside and out.

We remove the old glass without damaging the pinchweld, prime any bare metal, lay a proper bead, and set the new glass to factory position. Rain sensors, mirrors, cameras and heating elements are transferred or reconnected and checked before we leave.

If your vehicle has a camera mounted to the windshield, calibration is part of the job, not an afterthought.

The replacement itself usually takes about an hour. If your vehicle needs ADAS calibration, that adds somewhere between 45 and 90 minutes depending on the make and which calibration the manufacturer requires.

What matters more is cure time. The adhesive has to set before the glass can do its job in a crash, and how long that takes depends on the product, the temperature and the humidity that day. We do not quote a blanket number, because a number that is right in July is wrong in January. Your technician checks the conditions and tells you the exact time it is safe to drive before leaving.

If a shop gives you a drive-away time before they have seen the weather, they are guessing.

For the first day, leave a window cracked slightly, avoid slamming doors, and skip the car wash.

We work with all major insurance companies and file the claim for you. In most cases you give us your policy and claim details and we handle the rest.

In Virginia, Maryland and DC, comprehensive coverage usually covers glass damage and you pay your deductible. Chip repair is often covered with no deductible at all, which is one reason it is worth fixing a chip early.

We also put up to $100 toward your deductible. If your deductible is $50 or $100, that means nothing out of pocket. If it is higher, that is $100 off what you would otherwise pay.

If there is a camera looking through your windshield, your car uses it for lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control and similar systems. Moving that camera by even a small amount changes where the car thinks the road is.

That is why calibration after a windshield replacement is not optional on those vehicles. We calibrate in-house so you are not sent somewhere else afterward, and you get documentation that it was done.

If you decline calibration, arranging it elsewhere becomes your responsibility. We will tell you plainly whether your vehicle needs it.

OEM glass is made by the manufacturer that supplied your car's original windshield, with the carmaker's branding. OEE glass is made to the same specifications, often by the same manufacturers, without that branding. Both fit correctly, carry the right optical clarity, and support your ADAS camera.

We install OEM or OEE glass. We do not install cheap aftermarket glass, because distortion, fit problems and calibration failures are not worth the savings.

If you want OEM specifically, ask and we will quote it.

Workmanship is covered for the life of the windshield, not just for as long as you own the car. That means leaks, wind noise, trim that comes loose, and anything else traceable to the way the glass was installed. If something is wrong, call us and we will put it right at no cost.

The warranty stays with the vehicle, so it carries over to the next owner if you sell it. Keep the invoice with the service records and whoever buys the car is still covered.

Glass defects are covered by the manufacturer's warranty, and we handle that claim for you as well.
